A New Beginning

Beginnings rarely feel grand.

In Scripture, God often starts His greatest works quietly — with a call, a step of obedience, or a seed planted in faith.

In Genesis, the entire story of redemption begins with just a few words: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

The world was formless and empty. Darkness covered the deep. Yet God spoke, and something new began.

Throughout the Bible, we see this pattern repeated.

Moses began with a hesitant “Here I am.”

David began as a shepherd boy in a field.

Ruth began again in a foreign land with nothing but faith.

The disciples began as ordinary fishermen who simply chose to follow.

Even Jesus’ earthly life began in the most humble place imaginable — a manger.

God does not require perfect circumstances to begin something powerful. He only asks for willingness.

Beginnings can feel small, uncertain, and even uncomfortable. But in God’s hands, small beginnings are often the foundation for extraordinary things.

Zechariah reminds us: “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” (Zechariah 4:10)

If God is stirring something new in your heart — a calling, a step of faith, a vision for something greater — do not wait for perfect clarity or perfect conditions.

Start where you are. Walk in obedience. Trust that God is already present in the beginning.

Because every great story of faith begins with someone saying yes to the first step.

Sometimes the first step God asks of us is simply to go.

If something stirred in your heart while reading this — if you feel a quiet pull toward serving, toward stepping outside of your comfort zone, toward seeing how God is moving in the world — we want you to know that you don’t have to take that step alone.

At Nabajja Hope Missions and Travel, we believe missions are not about being the hero of the story. They are about obedience, relationship, and discovering who God created you to be while serving alongside others.

If you feel God calling you to explore a mission experience, we invite you to begin that conversation with us.

Pray about it.Ask God where He may be leading you. Then take the next step.

Your “yes” could be the beginning of something far greater than you imagine.

Because sometimes the seed God plants in your heart is meant to grow into something that impacts the world.
